If I indulge some choice desires,
And you slake some of yours,
Still neither shall be satisfied,
Still both shall feel life's flaws.

Better for you to have your will
In all - that would be sound:
Although I think it might be best
The other way around!

Nick:

This poem lacks sincerity
and has the aroma of dubious
selflessness. Still, it is a
very enjoyable read.

Steve, I mean every word, although I'm not sure what all the words mean. I do at the end hint that it would be best if I had all MY own way - I honestly think the world would have been a better place if that had been the case, athough some others (women, bless 'em) have often begged to differ.

Nick, I love how you say..."have it your way" when really you're thinking "it's better my way". LOLOL This is too funny.

Evangeline, I'm ALWAYS generous - but my heart's not always in it! Thanks for that.

I'm kidding around, Keshav. In the first verse I'm saying that compromise doesn't really work, since most people in a relationship would like to have all their own way. In the second verse I offer (insincerely) to let her have HER own way, so at least one of us will be completely happy. But in the last two lines I show my real (selfish) feelings!

In real life I let my wife have all her own way and I'm just so grateful for the chance to do her bidding! LOL
