I sit here with some familiar strangers
Carefully consuming tea;

Asking myself a controversial question
What is it exactly, that they see;

As the conversation discusses the state of life
While nothing’s really being said;

I’m anxiously waiting for this reunion to adjourn
Knowing the feelings are dead;

Recalling all the things, that have taken place
Throughout the passage of time;

I sit reluctantly, pondering why I’m here
Feeling like a professional mime;

Knowing all too well, the emotions have died
And what was, is not at the end;

So I pray that life will educate them soon
So we might call each other friend….
