Family Friend Poems displays poems on our website as well as our forum. Each poem submitted on our website is reviewed and edited if necessary, before being published. Poems posted on the forum are not subject to review.

The FFP Poetry Forum is a place where anyone can publish their poems. They must be family friendly and plagiarism is unacceptable, however besides those two rules the forum is an excellent place to post your work, interact with fellow poets and receive feedback from our many visitors as well as our great group of moderators.

Many poems submitted for publication on our website are not published, and (unfortunately) many poems already submitted are still waiting to be reviewed.

We have requirements as well as guidelines for which a poem may or may not be rejected. The requirements for poems submitted for publication on the Family Friend Poems website are:

  1. No Plagiarism (poem already posted will be removed if there is reason to suspect Plagiarism)

  2. Spell Check your poem

  3. Spell Check your Introduction / Description

  4. Don't use all caps (use capitals for emphasis, just not the whole poem)

  5. A unique Introduction or Description for all poems submitted

  6. Don't submit a paragraph, Use line breaks (the enter key).

  7. Stanzas are excellent, Use 1 blank line in between Stanzas

  8. Do not repeat the title or your name within the Poem.

Some other things we look at:

  • If your poem is excellent it will be published, this includes excellent poetry or a touching or moving storyline

  • Choose your Category and subcategory carefully, if you pick one that has only has 3 poems, it is more likely to be published then a subcategory with 100 poems

  • If your poem is an average poem, (say your breaking up with your boyfriend, unfortunately so are a lot of people) the introduction is where you get a chance to share your unique story, even if your poem is average, if your Introduction is excellent your poem may be published

  • include a link to your profile if you have one, and if you don't mind sharing that aspect of your personal life

  • And sometimes you will be published, because it’s just too hard to send you a rejection email

Your submissions are always appreciated and we hope you understand that we can't post all poems and that some very deserving poems and poets get rejected.

A great big Thank You to the poets who have submitted their work to Family Friend Poems, you are the reason this website exists and we hope that you enjoy browsing our website so that we can give you something back in return.

Cheers! Don,
